How Does Bhakti Change Your Inner Impression?

In conditioned state, we are recognizing ourselves with the body but in actual sense, we are the eternal Soul and part and parcel of The Supreme Godhead Shri Krishna. When we start to do BHAKTI or Devotional Service, then due to its influence, the inner impression of our Mind recognizing ourselves as the body changes, and it is then nurtured to think of us as the Eternal Soul. This is because due to devotional service, our intelligence becomes stronger and that drives our mind towards Lord Krishna. On the other hand, when we don’t perform any devotional service then our Intelligence becomes so dull that it becomes unable to control and guide our mind. As a result, our mind recognizes soul with the body only due to bodily concept envisaged under the influence of ignorance. Devotional Service provides the true knowledge and removes ignorance envisaged due to influence of Covering of Material Energy.

Transformation of Inner Impression Through Bhakti

Initially, in the absence of Bhakti or Devotional Services, our mind does all activities for the satisfaction of our body only. Eating, sleeping, mating, fighting and defending remain the primary goal of Life. However, after one starts performing devotional services, the primary focus of the Mind is shifted from body to Soul and Mind takes interest in the business of soul due to renunciation developed over the period of time – (Vyavasayatmika buddhih ekeh KURU Nandana). And, when we get true knowledge then our inner impression changes and we start believing that we are the soul and part and parcel of the Supreme Lord Shri Krishna. Due to the influence of Bhakti or Devotional Service, our inner impressions, i.e. all the improbable thoughts towards Lord Shri Krishna, doubts towards Lord Shri Krishna and enmity related thoughts towards Lord Krishna are transformed; and new impressions like – We are the Eternal Servant of Lord Shri Krishna and we are the Servant of Servant of Servant of Servant of Pure devotees (Gopi- Bhartur Pada Kamalayor Dasa-Dasa-Dasanudasah) are developed. When our inner thoughts are completely transformed, then we remember Krishna, even while leaving this Present Material body, and attain Golok Vrinadavan Dham. There we get a Spiritual Body full of Sat, Cit and Ananda and we participate in the transcendental leelas of Radha and Krishna. Those who do not opt for Devotional Services, are forced to take birth in 8000000 different species according to the Samskaras developed at the time of death.

Lord Krishna describes in Bhagavad Gita Chapter 8.5:

anta-kalechamamevasmaranmuktvakalevaram|
yah  prayati  sa mad-bhavam  yati nastyatra   sanshayah
||

Therefore, in this regard, we must daily chant at least 16 Rounds of Hare Krishna Maha Mantra:

HARE KRISHNA HARE KRISHNA KRISHNA KRISHNA HARE HARE|

HARE RAMA HARE RAMA RAMA RAMA HARE HARE||

Importance of Hare Krishna Maha Mantra in Developing Bhakti

When we chant the Holy Name of The Supreme Godhead Shri Krishna, we find peace because all the thoughts related to anxiety, depression are removed. Furthermore, our inner negative impressions are changed and new positive impressions of Mercy towards others, cleanliness, austerity, forgiveness for others are developed due to the effect of HARE KRISHNA MAHA MANTRA.

Due to the effect of HOLY NAME, all the inner impressions of demonic thoughts, demonic words, and demonic deeds are transformed into divine thoughts – all living creatures from A Worm to Brahma are part and parcel of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Also,  the divine qualities like mercy towards other living entities, welfare for others, free from fault findings (apaisunam), Tapah, Ahimsa, Satyam, Arjavam (Simplicity) are developed and Divine deeds, i.e. to perform material duties while always thinking about Shri Krishna’s Lotus feet are created because of Bhakti.

Bhakti (Devotional Service) Transforms Our Inner Impression

Over the period of time, while performing various Devotional Services or Bhakti, our inner impressions are completely transformed and we start recognizing ourselves as the eternal servant of Lord Shri Krishna and perform pure Devotional Service and become free of different types of designations (sarvopādhi-vinirmuktaṁtat-paratvenanirmalamhṛṣīkeṇahṛṣīkeśa-sevanaṁ bhaktir ucyate) and any types of bodily inner impressions like selfishness, lust, anger, greed, pride, illusion and envy towards others – (anyābhilāṣitā-śūnyaṁjñāna-karmādy-anāvṛtamānukūlyenakṛṣṇānu-śīlanaṁ bhaktir uttamā).

In this manner, after leaving this material body, we continue our devotional service in the Golok Vrindavan for eternity.
