Welcome Shri Krishna on Janmashtami by Offering Vamana Seva

What is Vamana Seva?

Every year, Janmashtami brings joy and divine energy into our lives. But this time, let’s do something really wonderful. Let’s welcome Shri Krishna on Janmashtami by offering Vamana Seva. This is a beautiful way to celebrate his birth with devotion and purpose. This seva lets you donate a small piece of land called Pag Bhumi for Shri Radha Krishna temple construction at ISKCON Ghaziabad. It may be a small offering, but it creates a bridge between us and Shri Krishna.

Inspired by the story of Lord Vamana, this donation is not just about giving. It is about love, blessings, and building a spiritual legacy. Through this simple act, you can offer your name to his lotus feet for ever.

Vamana Seva Importance

The importance of Vamana Seva is very deep. When we give something to the Lord, even if it is small, he accepts it with love.

(Bhagavad Gita 9.26):

पत्रं पुष्पं फलं तोयं यो मे भक्त्या प्रयच्छति।
तदहं भक्त्युपहृतम् अश्नामि प्रयतात्मन:॥

Transliteration:

Patraṁ puṣpaṁ phalaṁ toyaṁ yo me bhaktyā prayacchati,
Tad ahaṁ bhakty-upahṛtam aśnāmi prayatātmanaḥ.

Meaning: If one offers me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit, or water,
I accept it.

Vamana Seva is a way to surrender everything to Shri Krishna. When you donate land through this seva, you are helping to make a home for Shri Krishna.

At ISKCON Temple, this seva is offered during Janmashtami, the day when Shri Krishna appeared on Earth. Your donation helps in temple construction and supports devotional programs. It also creates a place where people can come, chant, learn, and feel peace in the presence of the Lord.

The Story of Vamana – The Dwarf Avatar

Once upon a time, King Bali ruled the world. He was brave, kind, and generous. But slowly, pride grew in his heart. The gods became worried and prayed to Lord Vishnu for help.

Lord Vishnu smiled and took birth as a small Brahmin boy named Vamana. One day, King Bali was doing a grand sacrifice. Many kings and sages were invited. Vamana, the little boy, walked in with a glowing face and a tiny umbrella.

Bali welcomed him and asked, “What do you want?” Vamana softly replied, “Give me just three steps of land.” Bali laughed, “Only three steps? Take it!”

Suddenly, Vamana grew into a giant form. With one step, he covered the earth. With the second, he covered the sky. There was no space left.

The kind understood that the boy was not ordinary. Bali folded his hands and said, “Place your last step on my head.” Pleased with his humility, Lord Vishnu blessed Bali forever.
