Because He was drawn from one womb to another, He became known as Sankarshana. As the son of Rohini, He is also lovingly called Rohini-nandana.
The child brought extraordinary joy and spiritual strength to His family. The name Balaram indicates one who possesses immense strength and gives spiritual strength to others.
