“Chintamanisama hyesha athvapi nidhih smrita. Kalpapadapapraeksha or Sarvavedopamathwa.”
This Ekadashi date has been said to be like Chintamani Tulya, or like Nidhi, like Kalpataru Swaroop or like all the Vedas.

Putrada Ekadashi Vrat Katha
Once Yudhishthira Maharaj asked lord Sri Krishna to explain to him the details of the Ekadashi that occurs in the light fortnight of Shukla or Gaura pakshaof the month. He further inquired name of Ekadashi and Deities to be worshipped on that sacred day.
Lord Sri Hari replied “Ekadashi” occurs in fortnight of Shukla or Gaura paksha of the month is known as “Putrada Ekadashi”.
Once there was a king named “suketumaan” he ruled over dynasty called “bhadravati” his wife’s name was “shaibya”.
They were not having no son they were always who will rule their dynasty. Both were in great distress. When they offered “TARPANA” to their ancestors they used to think they would not have any descendants to offer “TARPANA” to them. They were very stressed to know that even their forefathers werenot happy to know that soon they would have no one to offer them “TARPANA”.
As time passed, he became more and more frustrated. of the stateElephants, horses, palaces, servants, nothing could console him. The king started thinking, “Actually, for a family man, not having a son makes both his heart and home empty and painful. In the absence of a son, a person cannot repay his debts to his ancestors, gods, and other living beings.
Having a son makes a person happy. It is a witness to the virtues of one hundred previous births. Having a son and grandson in this life proves that the person has not worshiped the Supreme Lord Shri Krishna in his previous births. Sons, wealth, sharp intelligence can be obtained only by worshiping the Supreme Lord Shri Krishna. Can only go.” Disturbed by these thoughts, the king thought of committing suicide, but he realized that a suicidal person has to take birth in the hellish worlds.
Thinking this he removed the thought of suicide from his mind. Due to anxiety, he sat on his horse and went into the dense forests without telling anything to anyone. That forest was full of deer’s, tigers, wild boars, lions, monkeys, snakes, giant elephants and their calves, and trees laden with fruits and flowers. Seeing all this the king became more distraught and started wandering.
Suddenly king heardhowl of fox king was hungry and he was suffering from inside he asked himself that he has not done any bad deed he took care of his dynasty like his own son, he gave great respect to all sadhu’s and brahman’s then is he suffering?He asked himself.
Immersed in these thoughts, the struggling king, due to the glory of his auspicious Kaman, reached a beautiful pond full of lotus flowers which looked like Manasarovar. It was full of different types of fish and crocodiles. In the sunlight, cranes, swans, and ducks swimming in the pond filled with lotus flowers looked very happy. Nearby there were ashrams of wish-fulfilling sadhus. The king’s right arm and eye started twitching and indicating some auspicious sign.”
King came down of his horse and saw sadhu’s chanting holy name. king paid his obeisances to them and with folded hands he sat near them. Sadhu’s asked king reason of visiting them. King asked sadhu’s who they are and their reason of doing sadhana near pond. Sadhusto him that they are dus vishwadev and they were observing “Putrada Ekadashi” fasting they came to take bath in pond.
They further described that those who wish to have son should observe putrada Ekadashi.Putrada means to provide a son. They advised king to fast seriously. They further added “Withour blessings and the grace of Lord Keshav, you will soon have a son”.
As per the advice of the Vishwadevs (the names of the Vishwadevs are as follows – Vasu, Satya, Kratu, Daksh, Kaal, Kama, Dhriti, Pururava, Madava and Kuru), the king followed the prescribed rules and observed that date and took a bath in the lake on Dwadashi. After doing so, he paid obeisance to the saints and returned to the palace.
After some time, his queen became pregnant, and the queen was blessed with a beautiful son with a radiant face. When he grew up, he became famous as a brave prince and the king made him his heir.”
One who seriously observes this Ekadashi in this world will be blessed with a son and will attain liberation after death. By studying or listening to the glories of Putrada Ekadashi, one attains virtues like Ashwamedha Yagya.

1.What is the method of observing Adarsh Ekadashi?
Answer: Adarsh Ekadashi means that on the day of Ekadashi, our eleventh senses should be removed from their objects and used in the service of Shri Krishna. That is, on the day of Ekadashi, do not consume water or any kind of food item and remain engaged in the service of Shri Krishna all day and night. Such as increasing the number of times of rosary chanting, doing special service to the deities, listening more, studying Shrimad Bhagwat, doing bhajan-kirtan and serving Vaishnavas etc.
2.What is the reason for not eating food on Ekadashi? What should be done if one accidentally eats some prohibited food on the day of Ekadashi fast?
Answer: On the day of Ekadashi, the sinful man resides in the forbidden food items, that is, by eating forbidden food items like food etc., we must suffer the consequences of all the sins like cow slaughter, Brahma murder, woman murder, child murder etc. Therefore, as soon as we come to know about our mistake, we should observe the fast for the rest of the day and on Dwadashi also we should fast for the whole day.
