If one reads Bhagavad-gita very sincerely and with all seriousness, then by the grace of the Lord the reactions of his past misdeeds will not act upon him.” (gita-mahatmya 2) The Lord says very loudly in the last portion of Bhagavad-gita (18.66)”.

How many Slokas in Bhagavad Gita?

There are around 700 slokas in Bhagavad Gita and each verse has some teachings. Bhagavad Gita is the essence of all our Vedic wisdom. It is a conversation between lord Shri Krishna and Arjuna. Arjuna asked all his questions to lord Shri Krishna and Krishna gave answers to him on the battlefield of Kurukshetra.

What Famous Personalities say about Bhagavad Gita?

Bhagavad Gita is not just a Vedic literature it is a book full of knowledge and teachings.

Each verse of Bhagavad Gita can change anyone’s life. Many scientists, famous personalities, and influencers have read Bhagavad Gita and they have described how it changed their lives.

:-Albert Einstein greatest scientist of all time quoted When I read the Bhagavad-Gita and reflect about how God created this universe, everything else seems so superfluous.

:-Sunita Williams famous astronaut and United States Navy officer known for holding several records regarding maximum spacewalk time for women, has said-

Those are spiritual things to reflect upon yourself, life, and the world around you and see things the other way. I thought it was quite appropriate.” She even added that Bhagavad Gita cleared her doubts regarding why she needed to perform her duties.

:-Dr APJ Abdul Kalam famous Indian scientist despite being Muslim used to read the Bhagavad Gita and even used to reciter many verses.

:-Hollywood Actor Will Smith said I am 90% through the Bhagavad Gita… My inner Arjuna is being channelled”.

There are several quotes by so many great personalities about Bhagavad Gita and how it changed their life.

What is Role of Bhagavad Gita in Society?

Bhagavad Gita not only guides one toward a spiritual path but also guides how one needs to perform his or her material duties.

We live in a society where we see people struggling with anxiety, depression, and stress. They take stress-relieving pills and medicines which affect their subtle bodies. Drugs and the consumption of weed or alcohol are common among youths. The quality of human civilization is deteriorating day by day. Murders, rapes, smuggling and many other criminal activities are common nowadays. What is the solution to this? Only solution to this problem is the teachings of Bhagavad Gita.

How can Bhagavad Gita change our Society and Make it a better Place?

Our founder acharya A.C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada went to foreign countries and taught Western hippies about teachings of Bhagavad Gita. Bhakti Vedanta Swami Prabhupada converted hippies into happies, they started living a disciplined and civilized life. This is the impact of teachings of Bhagavad Gita.

Bhagavad Gita is the essence of all our scriptures and Vedas. You can find everything written in Vedas in Bhagavad Gita even you can find things which are not mentioned in Vedas.

There are several awards given to Iskcon for changing life of people and this all has been possible with the help of Bhagavad Gita. Iskcon’s whole movement is based on teachings of Bhagavad Gita.

Bhagavad Gita and Story of USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics)

Bhagavad Gita is easily available in many parts all over the world. Even we see after India, this Hare Krishna movement has flourished more in Russia but was it that easy to spread teachings of Bhagavad Gita there?

No, it was not easy, devotees in Russia used to write copies of Bhagavad Gita with their hands as they were not allowed to print religious books. They used to distribute handwritten Gita’s.

If they used get caught distributing Bhagavad Gita, they used to get beaten for practicing Krishna consciousness. Even many devotees in Russia lost their lives for spreading Bhagavad Gita.

This shows how Bhagavad Gita can change anyone. Foreigners have a culture of eating meat, drinking alcohol etc. but teachings of Bhagavad Gita can change life of such people.

ISKCON’S Bhagavad Gita as it is-

There are several translations of Bhagavad Gita available in the market, but the most distributed or most demanded translation of Bhagavad Gita is ‘Bhagavad Gita as it is’. As its name says it is “as it is”, our founder Acharya AC Bhakti Vedant Swami Prabhupada presented each word spoken by Krishna as it is. Each word has been described with its proper meaning and this is the reason why Bhagavad Gita translated by Srila Prabhupada is famous all around the world and it changed the lives of many people around the world.

In this Picture, gita jayanti and mokshada ekadashi celebraion has been shown

Gita Jayanti and Mokshada Ekadashi

Mokshada Ekadashi – Destroyer of many sins. Lord Krishna while narrating the glories of Mokshada Ekadashi to Yudhishthira Maharaj, said

O Yudhishthira, whosoever strictly observes the sacred Mokshada Ekadashi, achieves full and perfect liberation after death. There is no better fasting day than this Ekadashi of the light fortnight in the month of Margashirsha. Whoever faithfully observes this fast, obtains special merit that can elevate one from hellish life to the heavenly planets, and for one who observes Ekadashi for his spiritual benefit, this elevates one to go back to Godhead, never to return to this material world.

What makes this Ekadashi more glorious is that on this Ekadashi lord Krishna spoke Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra.

How to Celebrate Gita Jayanti 2023?

On the day of Gita Jayanti, we should try reading more verses of Bhagavad Gita than we usually read. We should go outside and distribute Gita.

Lord Krishna says in Bhagavad Gita 18.68-69:

For one who explains this supreme secret to the devotees, pure devotional service is guaranteed, and at the end, he will come back to Me (Lord Krishna). There is no one in this world more dear to Me (Lord Krishna) than he, nor will there ever be one more dear.
